As we wrap up the year, we're excited to share the latest developments and updates on forumify. December has been a month of significant strides in making the platform more accessible and feature-rich. Let's dive into the key highlights:
Making forumify Installable
One of the major accomplishments this month is the transition to an installable version. Previously, forumify was one large Symfony application, but now we've restructured it into a Symfony bundle. This move streamlines the installation process, making it easier for users to set up and update the platform. We've also introduced a production template to simplify the installation experience further. Once we are finished with this migration we will start writing documentation on how you can run your own forumify instance.
This transition is a substantial step toward ensuring that forumify is user-friendly and easily deployable, paving the way for a smoother experience for all users.
Progress with Deschutes Design Group and PERSCOM
Our collaboration with Deschutes Design Group and PERSCOM has seen remarkable progress. In response to our requests, the PERSCOM API has been expanded, opening up new possibilities for integration and customization. Additionally, we're approaching the completion of a migration path from Invision Community to PERSCOM.io. This is crucial as forumify will be utilizing PERSCOM.io as its backend, and ensuring site admins retain their data is a top priority.
These developments reinforce our commitment to providing a seamless transition for our users and establishing strong integrations with our partners.
Enhancements to forumify Features
While focusing on the Symfony bundle migration, we've also been enhancing forumify's feature set. Some exciting additions include real-time notifications and gamification elements such as like/dislike functionality and custom reactions. These features are designed to enrich your forum experience and add more interaction elements to the platform.
What's Next
As we approach the completion of the Symfony bundle migration, we're gearing up for another release here on forumify.net. This will make all the new features, including real-time notifications, and gamification elements, available for you to explore.
As always, thank you for being part of the forumify journey!
