forumify Development Log - May 2024
Hello, forumify community!
As we start the month of May, we're excited to share the latest updates and improvements on forumify. Let's explore the recent enhancements:
New Features Released
Menu Builder
We're thrilled to introduce the Menu Builder, a powerful tool that allows users to customize the frontend menu directly from the admin panel. With this feature, administrators can easily add, remove, or rearrange menu items to tailor the navigation experience for their community. Additionally, menu items can now be hidden or shown only to users with specific roles, providing greater control over access and visibility.
CMS Enhancements
We've implemented several quality of life improvements to enhance the Content Management System (CMS). These include performance tweaks such as the ability to cache sections and improved performance in finding CMS templates. Furthermore, snippets are now Twig-based instead of HTML, enabling more complex logic and the inclusion of other snippets or resources. These enhancements streamline content creation and management, offering a smoother experience for administrators and users alike.
Ongoing Development
Plugin Management
We're currently working on plugin management from the admin side. While users could previously view active plugins, they couldn't enable or disable them directly. This functionality is a crucial step toward our marketplace vision. It also provides valuable insights into the requirements for plugin developers, helping us avoid introducing too many breaking changes once the marketplace is launched. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting development!
Your Feedback Matters
We're committed to continuously improving and evolving our platform based on your feedback. Your input helps us prioritize features and enhancements that matter most to you. We appreciate your ongoing support and engagement as we work to make forumify the best it can be.
Stay tuned for more updates and announcements, and don't hesitate to reach out on Discord with any questions or suggestions you may have.
